Steven Wright: best use of 49 seconds

I enjoy listening to Steven Wright because he doesn’t really seem to follow normal conventions when it comes to his comedic delivery. He basically disregards intonation, ethos, pathos and logos, since his delivery generally entails an absurd monotone stream of thought. This particular clip, although only 49 seconds long, is a perfect example of how he operates. Even though he seemingly does not conform to any likely rhetorical patterns, it is the fact that he strings all of these things that would likely make a speech or standup routine on their own look bad, and somehow puts it all together to come up with something spectacular.
Although I do realize that his jokes rely very heavily upon his timing.
